Central Library - under renovation
Garland’s Central Library is undergoing renovations. The renovations will incorporate life and safety upgrades to the building, as well as changes to make the library more attractive and functional for the community. Expected changes include additional study and meeting spaces, a revamped community room, and a redesigned children’s area. 

The renovations will likely take 12 to 14 months to complete. In the interim, the Central Library will serve the community from a temporary location, the Central Library Express, at the former Garland Women’s Activities Building, located at 713 Austin St., near the intersection of Austin St. and N. Glenbrook Dr., just down the street from the current library site.

Will service at Garland’s branch libraries be affected? 
There are no planned disruptions because of the Central Library renovation, but your branch may be busier than it has been in the past.  We are planning for this and will do our best to make this a positive experience for everyone.
